pics added

...not much to add in this entry - still no pics of invites yet :-( BUT I have added some pics of cards I have made. You can find them on the left of the page.

I have started making some Christmas cards, I know lots of crafters that have started to make their cards way before now; that's me all over, leave it until I get pushed for time lol

I have a few October birthdays so I need to get my crafting fingers out and get a move on lol

Anyway, that's it for now....off to drop Hayley off as she is out to the pictures tonight!

I'm back to crafting

Ok, we are now settled into our new home :-) I've worked hard making it our own. Hubby has done his fair share of the manly work LOL ( and he's done a good job too!)

So, from this week I have got myself back into card making - it's not been a willing transition I can tell you. I've been pushed back into it by my sister lol. She needed help with making her christening invitations and what with having 5 kids (her, not me) and always running around like a headless chicken - I offered my services; which meant; having to face the hoards of sealed boxes consisting of my craft bits and bobs. So one afternoon last week I tackled the much needed job of sorting and organising where everything is to go. I must admit, and with thanks to my sis (thanks sis) that I am happy with how my craft space is all set up. I'm also pleased with the invitations too. I haven't got any pics of them yet as my darling daughter has taken (MY) the camera away with her!

So, as soon as I can get a pic I will upload here on my blog.

Oh, and in answer to some peoples questions regarding Hayley - SHE IS IN REMISSION!!!!!!!!!

I did some 'playing' about last night ~ it's my nieces 21st birthday today and wanted to do something different in regards to her gift. So, having brought her a nice piece of jewellry I then had ideas to do something with the box and decided to 'dress it' - I found some hand-made papers that were hiding way back in a place I don't venture to much in (back of craftwardrobe) ~ and, they were in my niece's fav colour too! SO the pictures below show my efforts :Tag and 21st bead tag ~

...the box with tag

and lastly, all three together!
It just remains for me to pop them over to my Niece this morning and then hope for the best ;-) I hope she likes the gift!

A card for my Nephew's 24Th birthday! I had the biggest compliment on his receival of this card, in his words, " Did you make this auntie Mina, as I can never tell if it's a handmade or shop bought?". Er, now having thought back to what he said, I hope this was a compliment! LOL
I haven't had much time for card making this past week or so. We are in the process of looking to move, so looking at places has taken over. I have actually seen a property that I really like in a nice area, not so far from where we live - we are waiting to hear if we have the 'go ahead' to get the balls rolling (so-to-speak). As well as being a nice area to move to, it just so happens that the hospital that Hayley goes to for her monthly check-up and weekly voice therapy, is within walking distance! I'm very excited about moving. Hubby and Daughter not as keen - but I feel strongly that a change needs to happen. Its been one hell of a roller-coaster these past 8 months and if I'm honest, I think a new start for all concerned is a good thing. Of course, I know that. It's just going to take the other two a little longer to realise it ;)
Tomorrow is back to card making, my niece is 21 this week and of course Father's day will here at the weekend, so it'll be all scissors to paper tomorrow. I'll post pics once cards are completed.

Luscious Lilacs...

This picture isn't the best quality and the colours are much more vibrant 'in the flesh' so to speak.
..I made this card for my lovely neice who passed her driving test first time! I know it's not the traditional ''You passed' but it's my version of it lol. I took a gamble with colours as I didn't know what colours she is 'into' but these colours I love so that's why I chose them. The papers are the Amethyst~Floral Prints from Dovecraft and they are beautiful.
I added ribbons, mirror dots, glazed flowers (glazed with Sakura pens) and added a a couple of tags. I brushed over the congratulations tag with watercolours. I did make a box for the card too. I'm pleased to say my niece was surprised and loved the card. She told me these were her favourite colours!! AND, it certainly was a 'congratulations, you passed' card with a difference!

Black & White

There's just something about Monochrome! I just love black and white - just as I love black & white photographs of years gone by..
The card to the left was inspired by the Dovecraft Charcoal Prints papers - they are gorgeous. I added the glazed black & white flower, a rub-on Friend text and a white ribbon ~ Just for the fun of it, I added the little lilac butterfly! I'm quite pleased with the card but as always, I am critical of what I do and will always find something I am not happy with! ~ on the other hand, crafting is meant to be fun and from the beginning to the end of your creation, many a time, the cards turn out different to how you visualised - well, in my case anyway! At the end of the day, you win some, you lose some, but in the middle of it, you've had a fun time creating!

An introduction....

Hello, and welcome to my 1st entry to this blog (ok, 2nd but you can't really include 'TESTING' as a first entry!)

I don't really know what I am doing regarding starting up this blog - so it will be interesting to see where it goes from here! So, in my first (2nd) entry I am starting off with showing you my challenge card...

..Ok, here it is, my FIRST ever challenge! I've always been a little bit 'scared' to offer one of my cards up for a challenge but on this occasion, I bit the bullet when I saw the First official Trimcraft Challenge - Summer Florals on the Trimcraft website.

...You were asked to create a project based upon a photo and the words; Summer, Hot Pink, Floral, & Bloom. So to my left is my attempt! I'm not totally happy with it, there is one thing that you can see obviously, and that is; I printed the quote straight onto the card and my paper couldn't have been straight going through the printer! (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)! so the text is slightly on the 'wonk' lol. My daughter Hayley would tell you otherwise, she'd say that I can never do straight! (as in; cut straight lines lol).

If you get a moment, go check out the challenge, there are some amazingly beautiful entries - from some pretty amazing talent! I'm in awe!

Well that's it from me..for now - take note; I WILL be back! hehe
